Coleman doubtful to face Giants
Jets DB Erik Coleman (concussion) is listed as doubtful for Week 5 at N.Y. Giants. He did not practice all week. “We’ll evaluate it as we go,” coach Eric Mangini said Thursday. “We take concussions extremely seriously.” Coleman was injured during the Jets’ 17-14 loss at Buffalo last Sunday, but didn’t show symptoms of a concussion until after the game. “Any time a player has an issue, we always go through that protocol,” Mangini said. “This was something that actually developed after the game in terms of the symptoms and things like that.”

Broncos vary how they use Moss
Against Indianapolis in Week 4, The Sports Xchange reports that the Broncos used rookie DE Jarvis Moss in an unusual position, standing him up just off the line. He would bounce around before the snap, trying to confuse the offense. “I liked it a lot, and I’m sure we’re going to use it a lot more the better we get at it,” Moss said. “It allowed me a lot of freedom to go and be an athlete.”

Marshall, Marshall, Marshall!
With two touchdowns this year, Broncos WR Brandon Marshall has already matched his 2006 total. He also has 20 catches for 290 yards and has become Jay Cutler’s favorite receiver. With Javon Walker’s status in question (knee), Marshall could again shine, and San Diego is No. 27 in pass defense.
